What are Common Symptoms of Seasonal Affective Disorder?

There are numerous individuals that end up suffering from the symptoms of seasonal affective disorder. Most of the people that suffer from this type of disorder will generally notice the symptoms will start to become noticeable when the winter months are close at hand. However, there are some rare cases of seasonal affective disorder that cause individuals to suffer its symptoms during the warm and sunny months of the summer. In some cases, seasonal affective disorder can cause an interruption in the individual’s routine daily activities and tasks that need to be done. Some of the most common symptoms that are associated with this type of disorder are as follows: 
  • Continuously feeling fatigued
  • Having problems with a regular sleep routine. Either feeling the need to sleep an excessive amount of time, or not sleeping nearly enough
  • The individual will begin to withdraw from social aspects of their life on an increased basis throughout either the winter or summer months
  • The inability of being able to concentrate on tasks at hand
  • Feelings of anxiety
  • Lack of desire for sex
  • Feeling lonely, sad, and depressed
  • Frequent mood swings
